Well "Find Friends" updated to add geofence notifications on your friends. A cool feature, I guess - but it seems Apple has made a big oversight. When you set a geofence on someone - it begins to constantly ping their location and leaves location services running on your friend's phone without their permission. This effectively allows you to just drain all your friends' batteries at will. Anyone else see the issue with this?

During the beta I noticed this as well. My wife did it and I could not figure out why the GPS icon was in my status bar until I asked her. I suspect they are using cell tower fixes which don't use the GPS so battery drain should be nonexistent for the feature.

The location icon is definitely there. But I don't think it constantly uses battery.
