I would like to make a suggestion that a new "Hackintosh" Forum be developed. I understand that people could use insanelymac.com of course, but I think a lot of users have built these systems and would love to share their experiences and help new users. This site has a large user base and is a great community for anything mac related. If there is a need for a moderator for a new forum such as this, I would be willing to help.

Hackintoshs are illegal and if you read the TOS, it shouldn't be discussed here

Illegal in terms of possibly violating a EULA who's own legitimacy is in question anyways? Buying the parts is all legal, and explaining how to put them together is too. The software installation is the only question really and can be refered to another site to avoid any legal issues.

I am picturing more of a showcase of already built, or in progress hackintoshes. With some hardware and mod help on the side.

I am guessing MacRumors will not agree to starting a Hackintosh Forum. They are trying to stay on Apple's good side. As it is, Apple already doesn't really like rumors that may be true floating around the internet. Duscussion of running OS X on a PC could possibly get MacRumors into legal trouble because this site has grown so large over the past year. If you really want to discuss the Hackintosh, there are plenty of other sites online that can assist you.

Like I mentioned, I only bring this up because I like this community. However, the comment about this site staying on the up and up with Apple makes sense. Well it was only a thought

MR has demonstrated in the past there is no appetite for this among the leadership

I would doubt it would get much support from arn or the other "gods" now

As you stated, the software installation violates the EULA. While your suggestion for this was that the forum here be for the hardware side of Hackintosh projects only, I have a feeling that trying to keep discussion on the software installs out of the forum would create too much work for the mods.

Will a mod just delete this thread? I have a feeling I'll get a million more "thumbs down" when I already understand lol
