New Forum process?

So I like the new forum and all but now the heck do you tell when a thread has a new item? All the folders stay green and there isn't a clear indication there is something new in a folder/thread.

I am sure its just me but couldn't find it when looking so any help would be great and mods can delete accordingly after

The bolded threads here in Buying Tips for example have new posts since I last marked as read. Those last three that are not bold do not have new posts. Is that what you meant?

I wonder if it would be possible to have that applied again to the forum list as well, like it did in the previous version. It seems that subforms that appear in black carry that distinction (bold when there are unread threads/posts, and not when everything is read), but the main forums themselves, which appear in different colors based on the different sections they are in, seem to always appear bold whether or not they have any unread threads/posts.
