Yes the unthinkable happened and my front glass shattered. Just ordered a new one on eBay. Supposedly an Apple numbered part. Anyone else have any luck or bad luck changing out iMac glass?

The front glass is held in place by magnets.
The easiest way is to use suction cups (Home Depot, ...) attached on the front glass.
Whatever you do, avoid touching the inner screen with your fingers, smudges are very hard to get rid of without scratching the display.
A microfiber cloth works very well to remove almost all dust particles in a few light touches from both screens right before closing it up.
