New FW to TB Adapter

Hi,

Ok, for those of us that have a 2011 MacBook Pro that still have both the Firewire and Thunderbolt ports. With the release of the new FW to TB adapter, does this adapter increase the speed of FW Ext HDD or is it pointless to have my FW plugged into this TB adapter and plugged into my TB port?

No, the speed is still limited to FW specs.
