My new G5 is amazing, but I just noticed today that the audio out is very distorted. I've had it for a few days, and until now this has not been a problem. The only think I can think of that i'm doing differently now is burning a DVD in DVDSP in the background... but that shouldnt cause a problem and it never did on my last computer.

The sound is distorted in all of the following situations:
Line-out (to stereo) plugged in on the back
Line-out plugged in on the front
Headphones plugged in on the front
Headphones plugged in to the back
All of the above when playing from any application, not just iTunes

so it's obviously a problem with the computer. As soon as the DVD is done burning I'll reboot and see if the problem is still there

anyone know what's causing this?
