Is the new gen high-end Macbook more powerful than the last gen low-end Macbook in everyway?

huh?? that's a rather weird comparison...

This would be better:

Low-End new gen. vs. High-End last gen.

yes, of course the new top model would be faster than the older base model...

More comparison/specs: here

He's talking about the new MacBook VS. the old MacBook Pro.

The answer is no. The 2.4 processor vs. 2.4 processor is almost identical with a slight advantage going for the MacBook, however the 8600M GT vs. the 9400 is where the MacBook Pro puts the MacBook to shame.

Pro or regular

Are you talking about the PRO or regular Macbooks? Because your subject says pro and your question only says Macbook.

My two cents are that you should get the MBP Classic for the screen, graphics card, or adaptorless firewire and DVI...

You should get the MB if you're concerned about portability.

I was leaning towards the MB until I found out that even though both screens are backlit LED, the MBP classic has a much brighter and higher quality screen.

If you already own the Macbook Pro, keep it! Don't even think about getting a Macbook...
The design is cool but apart from that there is no advantage of the new models...
