When does anybody think the new generation of notebooks (MacBook, MBAir, MBPro, etc.) will come out. I know Snow Leopard will probably come out at Macworld. But I was wondering when people thought the new generation of laptops will come out (even though we just had one). :apple:  :D

no.

I don't know, but I know I won't be buying a new Macbook until Nahalem and USB 3.0.

I thought the same thing... but by the time USB 3.0 devices start coming out, I'll be due for a new macbook.. lol so I just got the aluminum one.

My next laptop's due in mid-2011 when the AppleCare on this one expires - going to be amazing to see what I can get by then.

Mine will be ready to be sold at the start of october, thats a good 11 months use. I expect new stuff to be out at the start of november (being announced around october/november). Can't keep a computer past 12 months, that's boring

I heard that 3.0 wont be in consumer devices by 2010. That would probably be when...

I'll try to wait until then before I sell my mac!;)
That exactly is Neleham??? It's a four-core processor for notebooks, right? I haven't been able to get a clean answer...:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

The next major update will include touchscreen ability including a modified snow leopard interface/overlay, I would guess Macworld 2010.

I hope not though cause I just bought a new macbook pro and want it to be relatively current feature-wise for the next few years.

Why is everyone so sure about 10.6 coming in January? I think it will just probably be previewed and not even announced. Damn, we're not yet able to put our hands on 10.5.6
And by generation do you mean a serious restyling, new chipsets? New processors? MBA dunno..MBPs probably in May/June, even September, and MBs a couple of months later, and it all depends on NVidia, Intel, Apple and Economy

LOL

Nehelem is coming for sure next year. Of course Apple won't do any design changes to the new Macbook so soon (I wish they would get rid of the black keys though--personal preference--no biggie though---and give us a just a decent screen for once--which is why I'm getting a Pro next time--they should still give people who spend that much money on the Macbook a decent screen--they have never done that with Macbook's). Nobody has even came close to suggesting that.

Snow Leopard will not be coming out at Macworld.

If he said "about a year" at WWDC why would you interpret that as January?

The new generation of MacBooks will come out in June of 2011 so that I can get one for my birthday in July following my graduation from university.

And that is final.

school

Yeah, I was just hoping that a new version of MB would come out around next fall, because I want to get one for school.
