Hi guys,

I will be in Orlando Florida next week, i plan to visit the Apple store to see if they can fit new glass to my iphone 4.

Doe anyone know how much its liable to cost and how long the process takes?

Thanks in advance,

The back glass is pretty cheap and easy. Check up on iFixit for a $5 screwdriver and a backplate - last I saw, they were around $30. (I just realized that's the transparent one. The normals run $79.

I think the front glass is bonded to the display, so it will be significantly more expensive.

The back glass can be replaced at Apple for $29. The front is either $149 or $199.

IF it's going to run as much as some people here are saying you may as well spend the $149 for OOW replacement and get a "new" phone.

Its not just glass, its the whole screen that needs to be replaced.
They will charge you around $100-150 I believe.

Do it yourself! Get some glass off of ebay and follow iFixit's instructions! Message me if you need any help... I do at least one of these phones daily.

For iPhone 4 there is no service in store for display replacement other than whole phone replacement for 149 unless the situation is covered by warranty at which point the display still won't be replaced, a new phone is issued.

true, but on the 4, the front glass is a non serviceable item in store.

my dad had it done for like $115 or something at apple...

maybe on a 3GS, but not on a 4.

For that price, I might as well have done the OOW replacement as mentioned several posts up.

OP, just go to an Apple Store, tell them its broken, it's out of warranty and you want a replacement. Give them $149 and they activate then you walk out. Much better than you trying to install something.

I believe this also via the Mail. There is a higher cost if you wish to have a phone on "loan" while your phone is at Apple.

I just sent him a txt to ask some more detail. Half the time HE doesn't even know where he is or what he's talking about lol.

I just know that he called me and said he broke the glass and that his Verizon warranty was a $150-$170 deductible and they'd replace the entire phone. He said he went to (presumabely Apple, getting confirmation) and they were going to just fix the front glass for $115. He wanted my opinion. After educating him that his $150-$170 replacement phone would be a refurb, I recommended he go get the glass replaced on his for considerably less money.

I'd rather have my non-refurb, perfectly good internals with new glass (for cheaper) than a ******* verizon refurb.

Scratch that.

It was an authorized Apple repair shop (local) that does all kinds of Mac computers and iPhones/iPads. It was $112 ($120 OTD).

I'd probably go this route too if I hadn't bought an AppleCare warranty... This particular place has 4.5/5 stars with 30 reviews on google reviews.
