a better place
Anyone find the new layout terrible. They even removed a basic search bar ? What the heck Google, you've made your Webstore practically unusable for me :(

It is awful. They tried to "prettify" while removing functionality. I would often look at reviews of an app restricted simply to HTC One owners, as very often as we all know, some apps don't play well with certain phones (as opposed to OS versions) for example.

A bug I have found with me at least is that it shows apps that I downloaded, but uninstalled, as still installed.

Scroll up. It's right there.

Sadly it's not there on my iPad...

Thankfully, it is there on my mac. That's annoying still though.... :(

Yeah got that too. I tried to install an old app but couldn't because it insisted it was still installed.

It's same for all old apps - it is showing as installed.

Here is Airdroid on playstore on Safari (MBA) and on my HTC One in the play store. Safari / Webstore showing as installed when clearly it isn't. Notice search bar is there on Safari - but not on my ipad posted earlier ??? Come on google.....

It does not happen with all apps actually (I did a test now with several uninstalled apps). For example, with an app I have uninstalled but showing as installed in the play store I have clicked on the "installed" button and it lets me install it again. However, there are exceptions.

I think it's largely a matter of personal opinion.

Accessing it via my MBP, PC, iPad or Nexus 7, it's very consistent. I've had very good experiences, and the advisory that tells you about compatibility is more accurate than before.

Fast and easy access is the most important thing to me, especially from my Android phones and it meets that need very well. I like it.

The new layout drives me nuts. On any smaller-screened phone, that huge immovable left side bar eats up a ton of real estate. I found the old view, with the "similar items" to the left to be much more usable. Perhaps the worst change is the way the entire page greys out, with a "loading" throbber, ever time I navigate. And pop-ups appear entered in a huge area, so that I have to zoom way out to even see them. Whoever is behind the wheel at Google's UI design team needs to be breathalized.

The review section is completely worthless now. No option to sort reviews by date, rating, or version.

Fortunately options are still there on my phone though.

I absolutely HATE it. For someone that spends about two hours everyday looking for new stuff to get, I am really frustrated with it.

I hate it as well. I can't seem to find out where the devices are listed so you can see what you have installed and what you want to uninstall. The whole layout is crap, it can't even do screenshots of the apps correctly.

Its a massive step back utility wise for the end user.
Yes its prettier - but with crappy or broken functionality now.

Google should be ashamed to push this out on us users....

Riptide 2 coming to Play Store before App Store. Are we sure the tides aren't changing/changed?

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Ript...ds-Google-Play-first-App-Store-second_id45658

If I'm not mistaken, this isn't the first time an app has been introduced in Play Store first...

Appeared on PlayStore here at the same time as iTunes.

I think it more likely it was released at same time, but its just the manner of when each store refreshes their content on when either apperared first.

I doubt the developer intended anything meaningful from that..
