Toronto!
i made 2 basses before, but bought the neck. i think im ready to tackle the next obstacle. so now im gonna make a flying V guitar plus neck. ALL OF IT!

so far i put down my idea on photoshop
what do you think?
let me know so i can refine it

what color do you suggest? those black arrows are part of the paint
im thinking black with yellow arrows? or is that an alexi laiho rip?

I would say you totally revamped the V and then some. The streamlined edge on the top of the body is beautiful! It looks meaner, badder, ready to take the stage. :D

Seriously, that is a great design.

How about some really dark red with the black, maybe even darker than I made it.

That's going to be some LONG guitar. Maybe start with the scale length, calculate the total length, and make a 1:1 cardboard mockup to live with for a while before you commit to it.

edit: At a Paul scale length of 24.75", I make this to be over 53" long (!) Almost 4.5 feet. Whew!

He may have no necessarily made it to scale. I'm sure it's more for design/planning ideas than anything else. He's made others before, so he obviously knows what he's doing.

I like the concept, but I would improve two things:
- I would make the headstock longer
- make the right 'spike' (the one resting on your leg) longer.

this guy knows, but more technically on a guitar build forum i had posted a shorter one, lol. they just criticise more.. they all have loads of experience
