So I got a new 500GB HDD for my Macbook (which is from late 2006). I also got Snow Leopard to upgrade it. My CD/DVD Drive is broken. I installed Snow Leopard on the original 60GB HDD with an external CD/DVD drive. After I put my new 500GB HDD into the mac and start it up with the Snow Leopard disk in the external CD/DVD drive, all I get is the blinking folder. Once I got just the cursor. I've tried starting the computer holding "Option" and "C" but nothing works. What do I do???

Thanks

Option-c I believe is looking for an internal CD drive. Try just holding option at boot then select the external CD drive to boot from.

Yeah, I did that. Didn't work. I bought an external HD case and am just going to try and clone my existing HDD then install it internally.
