May sound like an obvious question but having not upgraded a hard-drive before just want the most trouble free / least effort method.

So - do I:

1) Upgrade the existing system from Leopard to SL and then back that up to the new hard drive and then boot off that?

or

2) Install Snow Leopard on the new drive and then, er, copy everything across?

I am running a mac mini with 4GB (3.4 in reality) RAM and am going to stick a 120GB SSD drive in, so, what with SL as well, will feed back to you on speed (for a mac mini) when/if it all goes well. :)

Until then - your help is appreciated.
