The OP could also restore from a Time Machine backup if he has one.Definitely clean install. People have had problems trying to clone it.

Yes. Avoid touching the underside of the drive (the PCB) during installation. When the installer loads, you'll need to open Disk Utility to format the drive (HFS+ Journaled with a GUID partition table).Sweet thanks everyone, now quick question....

If I was to replace the hd with an Intel ssd (and do a clean install), should I first update the drive's firmware and then format it that exact way?
