I have a mid 2010 MacBook pro running an i7 2.66GHz, 8GB memory, and 500GB HDD.

I do a lot of graphic design work and like to keep everything on my hard drive instead of putting everything on external drives. I still won't keep everything on my MBP but would still like to upgrade to 750GB- 1TB and 7200rpm. Now here is my question.

1. Is it good to stick with Seagate? Any suggestions?

2. Is the momentus XT good enough to suggest I stick with 500GB? (run OS on SSD and save on HDD)

3. I have Lion installed and have been doing Time Machine backups. How do I install and restore my information if I get a new drive?

Thank you ahead of time!

My goal is to have this Mac for at least 2-3 more years so I'm willing to make an investment in a drive but not SSD. Not big enough yet for my needs!
