I purchased a 1T WD Scorpio HD for my MBP. Any recommendation to copy the data from the old one to the new one. I tried to use CCC but this have a lots of command to back-up but I don't see anything to close the disk. Can someone let me know the best way to clone the new disk?

Use CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper to make a 1:1 copy of you old HDD to the new HDD.

With CCC you select the old HDD as SOURCE and the new, properly formatted* HDD as TARGET and click the CLONE button.

MacBook, MacBook Pro: Replacing the Hard Disk Drive, transferring data to the new HDD

the guide includes:
  • 0. Identify your MacBook or MacBook Pro
  • 1. Getting a new HDD
  • 2. Guides to replace the internal HDD with a newer one
  • 3. Transferring data from the old HDD to the new HDD
  • 4. Using the optical disk drive (ODD) slot for placing an SSD or HDD inside the MB/P (OPTIBAY)

Or is that usage too complicated?
