i have a macbook pro 16inch either late 2007 model or early 2008 and am looking to install a new hd. was wondering what best hd would be to get. i plan on installing windows 7 with bootcamp and would like a decent amount of memory. plus was wondering after i install the hard drive would i just have to pop in a installation disk of snow leopard and it will install on the new hd or what do i have to do to install os x ty for your help

Any 2.5" SATA drive that's 9.5mm thick will do. I think the largest around now is 640GB. I'd say look for Western Digital or Seagate. As far as re-installing...put the new HD in, put the OS DVD in and hold "C" at boot up, run disk utility to format the disk as HFS+ Journaled with GUID boot setup in the advanced options. Then you'll install the OS, and done.
If you want to restore your old data you'll need to put the old drive in an external enclosure and migrate your data over to the new drive.
