New HD in MB 2.2. Quick Question?

I'm already booted up with the #1 install disk. What are the exact settings to format the new drive under. What is the Boot Disk Icon with ? mark. Do I just use Disk Utility?

I just did a normal format and am on my way... Only about 290 of the 320 available. More than I would have thought.
