New HD makes new install hangs on loading screen

I bought a 1 TB (WDC Green) hd for my alu imac. The installation ends good (although it doesn't seem to ask for disc 2) and the alu mac reboots. Only the mac hangs on the loading wheel...

When I try to backup the machine from TimeMachine the macs hangs at 50%... What's going on?

I formatted the drive journaled in 1 partition. And should work....
