Hi, I acquired a 2009 mac mini (2.53Ghz, 4GB ram, 320GB HDD) recently but without a HDD; I was ok with this as I had access to two brand new 320GB Seagate 2.5 SATA drives. It was me that removed the original HDD following the instructions of a video guide from youtube (it is also recommended in places on this forum) and later replaced it with one of the new drives; my problem now is that neither of the new HDDs are recognised by the mac mini. I can hear the drives spin up, I can run the Mac OS X install disc (original) and it appears to run normally up to the point where is requests a disc to install to and there is nothing in the box to select.
I have tried both new HDDs and get the same result. I am not very familiar with Mac equipment, is there a specific type of HDD needed to work with a mac or am I missing some kind of setting option? There doesn't appear to be any jumpers on the drives.
Any help or advice that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.
Tim
PS I ran the application/test disc and all tests were successfully passed.
