New HDD making SHHH sound/

i got a new HDD for my macbook a 320GB and WD supper blue or some crap like that. and its working well buts is making a loud-ish SHHHHH sound is that normal?

It could be normal... how loud is it?
If you got the 7200, then it may cause some slight noise or vibration

If you feel it is defective, you should try to return it under warranty

It will spin as all HDDs do, but if it's quite audible then I would suspect it could be a faulty drive.

Otherwise, if a drive is saying SHHHHH it may be telling me to ****.

u know, i have the same drive, and it clicks once in a while. but it went away..weird
