New Hub - Old OS

Hello everyone.

Currently running on Mojave and all is stable

I would like a hub - either from OWC or Caldigit - but the newer hubs require newer operating systems which are newer than what I am currently running... Not sure I fully understand this...

Here are my system specs:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Would someone point me to an article explaining this - or perhaps provide some insight here...
