I was looking on apple.com and it looks like they released a new i-Phone today! It is called the i-Phone 3-G. Its a shame they downgraded from 8-G to 3-G but i guess they needed the space for the plastic back. I think i might get one along with the new mobIle-me service. I guess this will be the first time apple releases an i-Phone on a day other than Tuesday. What the heck apple?

I thought it was a joke too when I saw the plastic back but i guess apple decided to get off the aluminum kick.
Apple did release a new iPhone 3G however it has been released for a little while.

The 3G does not refer to the size of the onboard memory. It is still availbe in 8GB and 16GB.
3G is a faster form on mobile connection allowing for much greater speeds than the EDGE support in the first generation iPhone.
