I went past a store today called "The Jersey Computer Centre" and had a good chuckle. They've got 'New' iBooks in the window, now that's a good thing right. Well it would be if the iBooks in question weren't turquiose & white 350Mhz G3's! Also you've got to not that these are tax free prices so would be selling at just £95 less than today's iBooks from Apple.
I make a point of not shopping there as I've been there to hear them spout some real rubbish to poor unknowing punters.
I once asked, for a laugh, what the differences was between a computer in his shop and a computer from some advert I had in a magazine.
Now I fully understand that if you buy from a bricks & mortar shop they've got over heads to cover etc. and you might pay more. But the main difference between the two systems was his had MS Works bundled with a Celeron and the other had MS Office Pro and a P3 and he was asking an extra £150 when the P3 system was about £1000!
So what was the salesmans reply to my question? Because it had Office Pro the dictionary would have lots of bigger words in the professionals might use in business letters. That was it no other difference except to point out that the mail order company wasn't local so wouldn't offer support.
