New imac 27 1tb flash ssd boots in 23sec

Hey i just bought new imac 27 i7 780m 1tb flash storage, 32gb max out via third party

When i start it takes 23sec,is this normal or something wrong?

if its very new spotlight might still be indexing the contents of the storage

Mine takes about 6 seconds. I actually end up waiting for the trackpad to wake up before I can use it though.

Like the previous poster said, if you have literally just bought it and keep restarting it, give it time to index the HD then once its done you should see a huge speed improvement over conventional HDDs.

Did you install windows in bootcamp

Or do you have any external drives plugged in ?

i just got a new iMac to replace my mid 2010 model.

this one is a late 2013 i5 3.4, 1tb hdd, 32 gb ram with WD external 2TB hd plugged in via USB.

mine is taking 50 seconds just to get to my password login.

is this normal? seems no faster than my mid 2010 with i7 2.9, 1tb hdd and 20 gb ram. it had the same WD 2tb external hdd plugged up to the 2010 via firewire 800.

not meaning to highjack thread but similar issues just different HD.
