I currently have 4 FireWire drives daisy-chained to the FW800 port of an Early 2009 iMac. All works fine;

iMac <800 cable> Drive 1 <800 cable> Drive 2 <800 cable> Drive 3 <800 cable> Drive 4

I'm looking to order a new 27 inch iMac on Friday (fingers crossed), and wanted to know that with the Thunderbolt to Firewire cable (http://store.apple.com/au/product/MD464ZM/A/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapter), would my current setup carry on working? As in, does the daisy-chain element still work with the Thunderbolt adapter at the top of the chain? Would the iMac still see 4 unique drives?

A related question, if this does work, am I going to see any impacts in transfer speeds?

Thanks.
