Hello,

I was just about to buy old 27'' only bacause it can be used as TV. I did not due to funds reasons and now Apple introduced new line so here is the question: can new 21'' model be used as TV? Or I need to buy 27? What is the limitation here?

Tnx,
Brachson

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Nope, the 2011 model cannot be used as a TV.

None of them???? This is nerf!!

the only one model that u can use as a tv is iMac 27 2009-2010. not for 2011 because there is no cord that supported ThunderBolt yet.;)

You are; but you would need to purchase an aftermarket TV tuner such as this one: http://www.elgato.com/ .

In addition, HBO allows streaming of programs and films (if you are an HBO subscriber). I tried this on my new iMac and it is pretty decent.

This is correct.

You need to define "use as a TV".

To watch TV with -- use the elgato.

If you want to plug in an xPox or PS or something else, then no. (or not yet). And it was never possible on the 2010 21" to do that.
