New imac!! Bootcamp question

Hi, everyone. I just got my new imac 2.66 and i love it. i only miss a few windows apps so far.... I was wondering how safe and if it is a good idea to install windows since it is a mac after all. What about viruses on the mac, can they come from the xp install?

It is a OEM XP, there shouldn't be a problem? Do the updates all work the same??

To the first question, NO, they Can’t. Window and Mac OS use two different OS with different structure and platform. So, take it easy, you will be fine.
In response to the second problem, There shouldn’t and All the apps and updates all work the same, no difference from PC, period!!!

Here's the easiest way to think about running Windows on your Mac: Everything you have to be worried about running Windows on a PC is the same as running Windows on a Mac. Viruses, Malware, etc. But if you need to run a Windows app, then you'll find the downsides worth the cost.
