I just ordered a top of the line completely maxed out iMac 27". I would like to know the best way for me to transfer or clone my current MacBook Pro 2011 to an exact copy on iMac?

I have a time machine back up from my MacBook Pro and my new iMac arrives may 6th so I have time to buy hardware or software if needed.

Thank U in advance.

The best method is using Setup Assistant, this will start when you turn on the new iMac the first time. To learn more about SA, please read Pondini's guide, it the best one available and should make your migration simple assuming you follow the directions.

You can find Pondini's guide by clicking: http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html
