new IMAC crashes during Flash

I just recently purchased a 27 inch IMAC from the apple store. However, I am quite frustrated because periodically when a browser loads up a page that contains flash, my entire MAC just freezes which requires me to perform a cold shut down which is probably bad. I think this is rediculous, and was wondering if there are any software patches I need which fixes this issue. I'm not sure if this is a common issue or just hardware specific.......

Have you installed the latest update?
