I was by the Apple store in Soho tonight just before they closed and saw that they were setting up a new window display. It featured 4 iMacs mounted in a horizontal row with the phrase "It all adds up" (or something close to that). A new iMac window display seems to suggest new iMacs will finally come tomorrow.

Not sure if they are on Vesa mounts, but they are mounted side by side on a white plastic with green "+" signs in between them. The text is above the computers on the white surface, also in green.

That display was up at the Cinicnnati store on Friday for the launch party, but I am hoping for new iMacs tomorow.

Not that it has to be the case but if every store has 4 iMacs in a row maybe there will be 4 different models of it. I'm assuming they were all the same screen size as the current ones (i.e. no 22/23 inch screen) which would probably shoot down the possibility of 4 different models.

Yeah they had this display up on Friday at my local Apple store too. They just say something about iLife on them I think.

The one at the Clarendon store was three iMacs:

Three mounted on a lime green plastic back.

First one mounted with no "L" base said "Pictures" on the screen.

A "+" sign separated the first and the second screen.

The second iMac said "iPhoto."

An "=" sign came next.

The tird one said something, but I forgot what it was.

I sat next to the display for an hour on Friday, waiting for the Store to reopen for Tiger. The iMacs run through iLife and iPhoto demos. I'd like to see iMac updates, but I don't think the display implies anything.

Maybe, just maybe...

This might signal a larger marketing effort in the works. Point-of-sale tie-ins with a billboard or TV campaign.

I remain hopeful.
