I have a Imac on order and i am starting to think about how i want to store my music, photos, etc...

Uptill now i have stored all my Music, Photos etc on a 250 Gig NAS drive attached to a Router, which was fine but when i wanted to look at or process my photos which were on this drive it could be slow at times, my itunes was ok but the drive was not alway mounted, (prob how i had it set up)

my music collection is approx 50Gig and the Photos are approx 20 Gig.

Im planning on porting all the files onto the Imac and then setting up some sort of weekly back-up to the 250 Gig NAS drive attached to the Router

Is this the right thing to do ?

What back-up Software could i use ?

Thanx in advance

I would say the pics should go on DVD's as I hold those to be most important. After that I would say to go ahead and backup on your separate drive. I would also say do a search of the forums because your backup dilemma is not independent of your computer. It is a pretty general "How do I backup" scenario.
