New iMac help!!...

Hi,
I'm hovering over buying a new iMac and would like some advice please. Originally, I had the high end 21.5 in my sights, but I'm now contemplating the lower end 27'' or maybe even the quad core.

Here's what I use it for -

Internet
Minor photo editing
Music (Garageband/Guitar Rig)
Video editing in FCP, nothing major just short films/music videos in HD.
A handful of games in Win7 (Left4Dead, Mass Effect..)

I'm slightly concerned about the Core 2 Duo being such an old chip design, that quickly will become outdated which is why I was leaning towards the i5.

Any ideas?

If you have the money, order the i5 today, & get the Black Friday rebate.

Well, the Black Friday discount isn't really relevant. I work for the NHS in the UK, and can get a discount through Apple's employee purchase programe which means iMacs are £848, £1127, £1268 and £1503 at all times.

if you can afford it, go with the i5/i7

Go for the best you can afford if you can, personally if I bought a core 2 duo at this stage I would wish I had gone for something a bit faster!

I made the mistake getting the c2d and had to take it back to get the i5.
