Hey all,

So good news I have replaced my Tiger PowerMac with a lovely new iMac, but having turned it on yesterday and manually migrated data today ending with a software update for all sorts it required a jolly good restart.

But after going through the install screens it is now just showing the spinning loading icon in the middle of the screen, and has for the last 40 minutes, has it hung or do I need to leave it a while? My thinking being I have copied over 100gb of data as well as its own software updates it might just be putting everything in order, so to speak.

Any one experienced this or have any suggestions?

Thanks, Tek

it sounds like it's hung up. It doesn't need to take any time to 'sort' any data you copied to it. Maybe some of the copied files are corrupt. Boot from your OS X disc and repair the disk with disk utility.
