Hey guys

Just looking for a bit of advice I currently have the base 13 inch rmbp and the base 21.5 mid 2011 iMac.

The iMac is gonna be out of applecare soon and has been having some display issues so after i get it fixed i think it'd be safer to get rid of it than keep it and risk it being worthless. heres my options

1.buying the top end 21.5 iMac
2.buying a nice monitor and using my mbp with it.

only thing I'm worried about is I do use my iMac quite a lot and I'm not sure if the macbook will be okay with as much usage.

Mostly browsing. a little bit of photo and video editing and some games mainly the sims.

Any opinions?

I use my 13" rMBP with an external monitor several hours a day as my only computer and it works perfectly.

What exactly is it you are concerned about?

Ditto. The 21" iMacs are kinda meh. And monitor prices are getting lower; you can get an iMac (non retina) quality IPD monitor for really decent prices right now. It would be useful for quite a long time, and certainly is cheaper than investing in another iMac when you already have a decent computer.
