I'm about to buy a iMac 27", but wondering if I should go for a new 3.34HGz or a 2.93GHz (3 years old). Price diffence about 650 euro.

Things I want to do with the iMac:
Internet/video streaming/light video editing

Will you notice the speed diffence between these units?
What do you advice me?

Get the i7 machine without a doubt, much better graphics card. Also you get a warranty, it's eligible for AppleCare and a is a much more powerful machine overall.

Thanks rkaufmann87,

How much memory do you advise (default 8GB) and do you advise a Fusion drive?
This will be my fist Apple so it needs to be good :)

I think for your needs, should be enough with standard config. 8gb + regular hdd.

I would not recommend that anyone bypass getting an SSD anymore... especially with how inexpensive the upgrade is now with FD.

Buy the computer with minimum memory from Apple, and upgrade yourself (unless you are getting the 21.5" version).
