Yup, did a search under "sleep," couldn't find anything...

If I don't touch my running iMac (OS 10.5.7) for five minutes or so, it reverts from a running state to some kind of sleep state--desktop replaced by screen saver, all running programs shut down, document I'm working on (using NeoOffice) closes.

Computer is brand-new, system preferences/energy saver settings are: both sliders set at "never," no boxes checked, all are off. Damn thing is doing it on its own.

Is there anything else I can reset, or is this a gitch?

Well, that's reassuring...

To be more specific, here's exactly what happens:

1/leave the computer alone for five minutes.

2/start-up screen appears (that wierd violet aurora borealis-like image) with a box imposed upon it asking for my password.

3/Hit "return," since I don't use a password, and my desktop appears, with all programs that previously had been running now closed.

4/Open whichever program(s) I wish and I'm back in business, but it sure is a pain to do this every five minutes unless I keep typing...
