I just got a new iMac. I used migration assistants to copy my information over from my old Power Mac G5. The problem is, I copied the whole user profile. I had setup a new user on the iMac before using migration assistance, but the information did not go there.
Yes, this is the first time I have ever used migration assistance or setup a new computer.
Please help.

This is how Migration Assistant is supposed to work. It does not combine the existing account with the one from the other computer. If you had run the migration during the Setup Assistant you saw when turning the computer on for the very first time, there would only have been 1 account. If there isn't anything of importance on the temporary account you made to run the migration process, log in the transferred account, go to System Preferences->Accounts. Once you have opened the padlock in the lower left using your password, you can then delete the temp account you had made.
