Which is better the

2011 iMac video card AMD Radeon HD 6970M with 2GB GDDR5 RAM

Or...

The new 2012 iMac Video Card
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX with 1GB RAM

I know there is more ram on the old card but vs the new architecture, how does it rate?

Thanks

much better.

So I will see a substantial difference from my ATI Radeon 2GB VRAM to a nVidia Geforce 1GB VRAM on the new iMac. I am trying to cut costs a bit to put a fusion drive into it.

I do not game all that much, but I do not want a worse video/gaming experince on the new iMac. I am just curious.

Typically, extra RAM on the GPU increases performance in high res/high texture games. If you plan on running BF3, Skyrim, or something similar at native res (2560x1440), more VRAM will help keep all the 'eye candy' boxes checked.

The 675MX is a faster card. I would pick the faster card over higher VRAM for my gaming.
