I have a late 2009 21.5 imac now, mostly use it for Logic, some simple video editing and Handbrake. I don't do any gaming on it, although I hate ruling it out.

Given this, would you recommend the quad-core i7 mac mini with a 256 ssd or wait for the new 27in Imac? If I got the mac Mini, would probably pick up a Dell ultrasharp 24 inch- the 27inch IPS panel is not mandatory.

Love to hear everyone's thoughts- I also think the refurb 27's are looking like a good deal...

I was wondering the same thing and had hoped someone would have replied. I'm pretty sure I'm not getting a new iMac, so I've been tossed between the 27" refurb or a new Mac Mini with i7. I don't play games or anything, so I don't think I need the dedicated GPU. If I got the Mini route, I would probably pick up a refurb 27" Cinema w/Thunderbolt.
