Seeing that the new iMac is about to be launched I'm wondering what to do with my old one. Its a 20" 2.33 iMac 3 yrs old.

1. Do I keep it and connect it to the new iMac as a second screen for FCP work (is this possible?)

or

2. Do I just give it to my daughter?

im almost positive you cant connect the iMac to your new one to use as a second screen.

Give it to your daughter. With parental controls.

I would recommend giving it to your daughter, it still has potential for a lot of use.
If I were a parent, I would not enable parental controls due to the fact that it would make her more rebellious and she's likely to find a way around them.
Well, if she's like ten or something the parental controls seem right.

What better way to give her in-depth knowledge of computers?

I'll be doing that when my daughters get their own computers. And feel proud when they break my controls.

At least you dont have a iMac 333 like me, now really what do you do with that thing? its fun to look at almost.

Give it to a family member while it still can be used.

you should give it to your daughter if you think she will use it. just tell her you would like to choose its method of execution if she ever gets something better. that way you can keep it again or sell it.
