I'm running 10.9 on a new iMac. It will not connect to the internet. I selected my network and typed in the password, and it shows that it has a checkmark next to it in the network drop-down list, though, the Airport icon is grey and has an X through it, and when I click it, it indicates WiFi: Not Configured. I also tried rebooting.

In Preferences, under Network, it shows Status: Cable Unplugged under Wi-Fi and it is currently set to Using DHCP.*There is no firewall or security settings enabled.

I use Network Diagnostics, enter my password after it finds my network and it comes back that it is unable to join the network. I’m typing this on my Macbook Air that is connected to the network, and my Macbook Pro also connects, along with a PC, an iPhone, 2 Androids, and an iPad.

Any ideas why it will not connect?

Thanks.

Things that come to mind.

- Reset or power cycle modem / router.
- Delete known or joined networks.
- Try a hardwire connection to ensure its a wifi problem.
- Make sure other devices on the network are connected and functioning to ensure it's not an ISP or modem problem.
- Double check wifi password
- Time Machine Restore
- Clean Install
