I've had Macs a long time, and just upgraded from a 20" Core Duo imac to a 27" i7 imac. When I attach my external drive to the new machine and boot into windows, it can't see the drive. I have this EXACT software (10.6.2/XP SP3) running on both machines, and it works fine on my old mac. I have it NTFS and have software on Windows to read the OSX formatted external drive.. if I hook it back up to my old machine, no problem. New one? - no go..

Ideas? I can't do firewire, as the drive is 400, and the new machine 800 only... not sure that would make it work anyway...

Could there be a conflict in drive letters with the SD slot?

+1 for the drive letter conflict.

Also try this: Click "Start" -> Right click "My Computer" -> click "Manage" -> click "Disk Management" and see if you can see the drive there.
