Having a VERY strange issue with my new 27" iMac. I've tried installing XP twice now and everything works fine through the installation and after XP boot initially without any Apple drivers. Keyboard (wired) and my Magic Mouse work just fine.

Then I install the Apple drivers and after a restart XP does not recognize and keyboard/mouse. Even if I hook up a standard USB windows keyboard and wired mouse, nothing. Booting into Mac OS everything works fine, but nothing in XP, including safe mode.

Anyone know what the heck is going on? :(

Well, not an ideal fix but I got around this by booting up my BootCamp partition in Parallels and running all the Windows updates. Once that was complete I jumped back into bootcamp and things were fine. PITA though

Any chance your XP install disc did not already contain either SP2 or SP3?

IIRC this is one of the issues folks who try to install a version earlier than SP2 have.

I am having the very same problem. Ran bootcamp, installed xp with sp2, installed apple drivers, then computer restarted and the mouse and keyboard do not work at all, not even a usb mouse. Everything works fine in osx.

I do not have parallels to go around the problem.

Can anyone help?

Which Mac? Which keyboard and mouse? Did you use the drivers from the grey OS X install disc that came with your Mac or ones from another 10.6 disc?

Parallels offers a free trial, so if that is a way to fix it, just download the trial...

21 inch iMac, 3.2 ghz, intel i3

I used the osx disk that came with the comp. It's the mac wireless keyboard and the magic mouse, but i also used an old usb mouse that wouldn't work on xp but would work in osx.

I didn't know about the free trial i'm going to try that. thank you!! :)

So I got bootcamp working. Still not sure why my mouse wasn't working but i just removed the partition and reinstalled xp. Now it works fine :D
