I currently own an HP Photosmart 5510 printer, which I've had for about four years. I'm no longer able to print, but the scanner still works. I think it has something to do with the compatibility with the print driver and the current OS. It bothers me that HP hasn't kept up with print drivers and now my printer is useless.

I can't live without a printer, so I'm hoping some of you can suggest a good quality printer/scanner combination that works over a wifi network.

My old HP officejet 6480 and older deskjet 5850 still work fine with the latest OS. I may have had to delete the printers and re-install them after the OS upgrades. Dunno about the 5510

I wouldn't recommend an inkjet for anyone unless they need photo quality printing -- especially when there's deals like the current Amazon sale on a Brother MFC-9340CDW color multi-function laser printer.
