Hello MacRumors

I got a MacBook for Xmas and heard that a lot of people put a clean install of OS's in general, so I was wondering if I should do that with my MacBook. It came out of the box, so I am the first owner, and there is nothing wrong with it. I am just wondering if it is recommended after getting it from the store (unopened.) thank you.

I do this, only to get rid of language translations, printer drivers, and bundled software I won't use and save some HD space in the process.

That said, I don't recommend it unless you:
  • Have about 1 hour to spare for installation and post-install setup
  • Have a Mac with a small drive and/or need lots of space
  • Wish to learn what installing the Mac OS is like
