Hi,

I installed a new 250GB 7200rpm Hitachi Internal HD into my Mac Pro yesterday and since then I have been having problems when I turn boot up. The hard drive itself is being used to store audio files on and the installation process went without hitch.

Now I find that whenever I turn the Mac Pro on it will simply show up with the light blue screen after playing the chimes. Earlier today I was getting the folder with the question mark and after putting the Leopard install disk in I was able to boot via that and then run Disk Utility to tell it to restart and boot from my first hard drive which is in Bay 1. It has done the same thing again however this time after repeatedly turning it off by holding the power button down it was able to boot, very slowly, on it's own.

It seems as if whenever I shut down it is simply forgetting which hard drive to boot from. As far as specs for the machine go I'm running a Mac Pro Quad Core 2.66 GHz Intel Xeon, OSX 10.5.4 with 2GB of RAM.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Jon
