hi im thinking about getting a new internal harddrive. i have a macbook 2,1 intel. it currently has a 80 gb harddrive and i have 38 gb left! would getting a bigger harddive increase performance?

should i buy Seagate Momentus or Western Digital?

and would a 7200RPM make my laptop run any faster?

thanks!

As far as running low of free space, you're safe. You can, however, give your MacBook a boost by installing a 7200rpm hard drive. This will speed up system and application startup.

I've always preferred Western Digital drives as a personal preference.

thanks! but would the 7200rpm have a big affect on battery life or over heating?

I have the same drive (WD Scorpio Black 320 GB) and I haven't noticed any significant drop in battery life, no increase in heat, and a pretty decent performance boost.

You'll be glad you did it.
