New internal HD on appear, why?

Hello, i've bought this new Seagate HD Momentus 5400.4/250GB 2.5SATA - ST9250827AS (Components Internal Hard Drives)

But when i try to put it and turn my mac on the white screen with question mark folder appears, then i try to put my os cd and when come to choose the location, no hard drive appears...

any one can help me pls.

That's because the drive is formatted with a Windows (Master Boot Record) Partition map.

Load your MacOS installer DVD, hold down the "C" key and let it boot from the DVD. After you check English, stop there.

Go to the Utilities Menu and select Disk Utility.

In DU, click on the new drive (on the left) and then click on the Partitions tab. Change "Current" to "1 Partition" using the drop down. This will enable the "Options" button. Click on the Options button and change the Partition map to "GUID". Click Ok. Name your disk and click Apply. Quit DU and proceed with your installation or use the Utilities Menu and select a "TM restore", or shutdown and boot from a cloned drive to clone "back" to your new drive.
