You're out for dinner with friends. Everything's great until it's time to divide the check. Someone didn't have a drink, and doesn't want to pay for those who did. Someone else didn't have dessert, and doesn't want to pay for that. You spend entirely too much time figuring out who pays for what. You resolve to never be in this situation again.
DivideTheCheck takes care of this situation for you. You enter amounts for up to 5 categories: Meal (this is the check total, from which the other category amounts will be deducted), drinks, dessert, appetizers, and other. Tip may be entered as an amount or as a percentage of the total (or even not entered at all). For each category entered, the number of people dividing that category is entered as well.
Tap Calculate, and your complex division is done for you. The result screen shows the total, tip amount, total with tip. Scroll down to get the amounts of splits for all categories, or any number of categories. If someone is paying for dinner, a drink, and dessert, scroll down to the heading that says, "Paying for three items," and look for "Meal + drinks + dessert:". That person's total is right there.
